Mouse Driver for Windows 3.0
BETA VERSION - Mouse Systems does not warrant the functionality,
compatibility or performance of these beta drivers. Although they
have been tested in-house, there are no guarantees, stated or implied,
for these drivers.
A. Driver Files
There are 2 drivers for Mouse Systems Mice and Windows 3.0:
3MSCWIN3.DRV - driver for 3-button protocol mouse on bus card.
2MSCWIN3.DRV - driver for 2-button protocol mouse (or PC Trackball
on COM ports or bus card.
B. Installation
To install the above drivers,
1. change directory to your "Windows" directory and type
SETUP <ENTER>
2. use UP cursor key to select "Mouse:" on the 1st SETUP screen
and press <ENTER>
3. use DOWN cursor key to select "Other" on the 2nd SETUP screen
and press <ENTER>
4. SETUP will now display the default drive and directory where
Windows mouse driver(s) can be found. If you have copied the
drivers to your hard disk, type the drive and directory where
you copied the drivers and press <ENTER>. If the driver files
are on a floppy disk, insert it to driver A: and press <ENTER>.
5. SETUP displays the description of the 2 drivers:
Mouse Systems 2 Button Mouse, BUS VERSION
Mouse Systems 3 Button Mouse on Bus Card #1
use the cursor keys to select the driver you need and press <ENTER>.
6. select "Complete Changes:" and press <ENTER>.
SETUP will copy the driver file and modify your SYSTEM.INI file
automatically.
C. Restrictions
These drivers work only on IRQs 2, 3, 4, 5, 7.
D. Additional Mouse Drivers
The new DOS mouse drivers, MSCMOUSE.COM and MSCMOUSE.SYS, version 6.23
were also included on this disk. These drivers may be required if
running a non-windows application in full-screen mode. Either of the
drivers may be installed as follows:
MSCMOUSE.COM - copy the MSCMOUSE.COM file to your hard disk. Insert
the command: \MSCMOUSE into your autoexec.bat file
MSCMOUSE.SYS - copy the MSCMOUSE.SYS file to your hard disk. Insert
the line: DEVICE=\MSCMOUSE.SYS into your config.sys file
